Who was
Helen Newberry Joy?

Helen Hall Newberry Joy, born June 9, 1869, was the daughter of John Stoughton Newberry, a prominent businessman and politician. Raised in a privileged environment, she married Henry Bourne Joy and resided in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Helen was deeply committed to her family, faith, and community, actively participating in numerous organizations like the Red Cross, the Detroit Symphony, and various hospitals. Her portrait by Patricia Burnett Hill is displayed in the main lobby of HNJH, honoring her legacy.

Gibson Family Health Clinic: Located within HNJH, offering same-day appointments and walk-ins daily, including weekends and holidays.

Manistique Lakes Family Clinic: Located in Curtis, MI. We offer health care services for the entire family- infants to the elderly.

West Mackinac Health Clinic: Located in Engadine, MI. We offer health care services for the entire family- infants to the elderly.

Eckerman Health Clinic: We offer health care services in our new conveniently located clinic on M-28, between Newberry and The Soo. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments are available.

Healthcare Providers: Our team includes family practice and internal medicine physicians, a hospitalist, nurse practitioners, and certified physician assistants.

Emergency Department: Open 24/7, staffed with specially trained emergency physicians and nursing staff.
