Helen Newberry Joy Hospital and Healthcare System is proud to announce the rollout of Lippincott, an innovative educational platform designed for professionals in nursing, social work, quality and risk management, and more. This cutting-edge system provides our staff with access to the latest medical research, best practices, and essential knowledge to ensure we continue delivering the highest level of care.
With Lippincott, our educational coordinators and senior staff can assign educational units to nurses, helping them stay informed on advancements in healthcare. The platform is continuously updated, ensuring that our team remains at the forefront of medical education and patient care.
Focusing on Low-Volume, High-Risk Learning
“We want to focus on low-volume, high-risk learning,” said Kimberly Kerridge, Educational Coordinator at HNJH. “This means we emphasize training on situations that may be rare but could ultimately save someone’s life.”
As a rural hospital located 60 miles from the nearest medical facility, it is crucial that our staff is prepared for any medical emergency—no matter how uncommon. Lippincott empowers our team with the knowledge and confidence to handle even the most complex cases with skill and expertise.
Supporting Continued Education and On-Demand Learning
In addition to assigned courses, Lippincott enables our nursing staff to complete their required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to maintain their professional licenses. The platform also serves as a valuable reference tool, allowing staff to quickly look up procedures or medical guidelines when needed.
“It has been a strategic and collaborative process to implement this program at HNJH,” Michele Petersen, Chief Nursing Officer shared, “we are excited to see how it will enhance our team’s expertise and benefit our patients.”
At Helen Newberry Joy Hospital, we are committed to continuous learning and excellence in patient care. By integrating Lippincott into our educational resources, we reaffirm our dedication to keeping every patient at the center of all we do—every patient, every time.
