For patients in rural areas, managing chronic illnesses or undergoing cancer treatment can often mean long, exhausting trips to faraway cities. At Helen Newberry Joy Hospital & Healthcare Center, we understand that healing should never come at the cost of convenience and comfort. That’s why we provide advanced outpatient infusion and chemotherapy services right here in Michigan’s Eastern Upper Peninsula (UP).

Improving Access in Rural Communities

Our infusion therapy services eliminate the need for lengthy travel by offering expert care locally. Whether you’re battling cancer, dehydration, immune disorders, or infections that don’t respond to oral medications, our skilled Registered Nurses are certified by the Oncology Nursing Society to provide compassionate and effective care right in Newberry.

Access to infusion in the UP means patients spend less time on the road and more time where it counts; at home, with family, and focused on healing.

What Is Infusion Therapy?

Infusion therapy is the administration of medications via a needle or catheter, often through an IV. It is commonly used when conditions are too severe for oral medications. From chemotherapy to intravenous hydration and iron infusions, our facility can manage a wide range of infusion needs.

Conditions Treated Through Local Infusion Services:

  • Cancer and cancer-related pain
  • Infections unresponsive to oral antibiotics
  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Immune deficiencies and autoimmune diseases
  • Osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
  • Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Gitelman’s Syndrome, ITP, Crohn’s Disease
  • Dehydration and electrolyte imbalance

Services We Provide

Our outpatient therapy services include, but are not limited to:

  • Chemotherapy and blood transfusions
  • Antibiotic and antiviral infusions
  • PICC line and medi-port maintenance
  • IV hydration, iron, and immunoglobulin treatments
  • Allergy injections, bladder instillations, and therapeutic phlebotomy
  • Specialized testing and catheter services

We proudly serve patients from across the Eastern Upper Peninsula with high-quality, personalized care that reduces the stress of commuting to distant facilities.

Convenience Without Compromise

Located on the first floor of the hospital, our infusion center is open weekdays from 8:30am to 4:00pm, with special arrangements available as needed. With compassionate staff, expert care, and reduced travel time, we make healing more manageable for those who need it most.
